Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Development Cookbook
My name is Mindaugas Pocius. I am freelance Dynamics AX developer, consultant, and trainer currently living and working in the UK. I am also a webmaster and one of the owners of this website. Here I would like to announce that my book - Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Development Cookbook - was published in January 2010 by Packt Publishing.
During numerous Dynamics AX implementations, I noticed similarities in application development patterns. I noticed that different customers request very similar modifications to be implemented. Since then I started building the list of most-often used modifications and their principles for future reuse. In this book, I would like to share those pieces of code with the rest of the Dynamics AX community.
Microsoft Dynamics AX Development 2009 Cookbook contains a list of useful Dynamics AX modification – recipes – along with all required code and in-depth explanations. Most of the recipes are presented using real-world examples in a variety of Dynamics AX modules. The step-by-step instructions along with many useful screenshots make learning easier. More information about this book including full description, table of contents, sample chapter, code and other stuff can be found on the publisher’s website.
This book is mainly for Dynamics AX developers above beginner’s level, and is primarily focused on delivering time-proven application modifications. For beginners as a good starting point I could recommend another book called Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Programming: Getting Started which was released in December 2009 from the same publisher.
I have put a lot of effort and time in developing and presenting my ideas and best practices which I collected over the years when working as a Dynamics AX developer and consultant and I would be delighted to hear some feedback. So if you have any comments or questions please use the form below or site’s contact form to submit your thoughts.
Happy reading!

Your old colleagues at Qurius bought a copy :-).
Already I have made use of one recipe, and created some dynamic menu buttons for our planning form... fun fun!
Congratulations,
Read it with joy - well done, I look forward seeing more from you

Hi Mindaugas,
I am a bit luckier than Andrew - I had read quite a few bits of the book already.
The book really provides what it promises on the cover - a proper explanation for number of Dynamics Ax developing principles, which will certainly may and will be reused by consultants or developers in Dynamics Ax projects.
I have expressed my opinion to fuller extent in my review on Amazon.co.uk system, so will just go with congratulating you on the book.
Well Done.
Hi Mindaugas,
First I'd heard about your books release was on mfp's blog when he did its review. Congratulations on the release. I'm looking forward to reading it as soon as I can get my hands on a copy. I'm sure it's going to contain some handy recipies!
Andrew
